We popped on our welly boots and headed to the field.  It was a big challenge, so the whole school went together.  The sun was shining, we had our snacks in our pockets and a handful of canes and tree protectors. 

We used the slit planting method, this mean digging the spade into the ground and wiggling it to make a gap.  We then carefully placed the saplings in the gap and closed the soil around them. The big job was putting the cane and the tree protector around.  By lunchtime, we were very hungry, but we had planted what we hope will turn into a stunning woodland.
