Welcome to our Class Page.
Spring Term with The Stingrays...
To chase away those winter blues, STINGRAYS are off to MEXICO this term! This unit is Geography based as we explore this North American country looking at both human and physical features. There is still a historical element as we also look at The Mayan and Aztec Empires a little later on. There are lots of Big Write opportunities linked to the topic including Travel Brochures, Letters of Complaint, Narratives and some poetry. We will be busy in the kitchen cooking Chile Con Carne and making dips, as well as hopefully creating our own chocolates, thinking about flavours and packaging. Our needlework skills will be tested making some rather spikey cactus pin cushions and we plan to make our classroom look amazing with some fabulous artwork.
We continue with our weekly swimming sessions on a Wednesday afternoon, travelling to the leisure centre in Knighton, and will be undertaking some badges before February Half-Term holiday. Luctonians will lead our Friday PE lessons, concentrating on TAG RUGBY in readiness for TAG FEST. We continue a great run of success in the MONDAY NETBALL LEAGUE and these matches continue throughout the Spring Term with Coaching Sessions on Friday during Lunchtime.. There are several football fixtures planned both home and away to Bedstone and a new Football Club, taking place on a Monday Lunchtime with Mr Rix. We will also have visiting coaches from Luctonians leading a couple of sessions...one of these will be Kabaddi, with a tournament following at Luctonians.
FRIDAY 14th FEBRUARY
STINGRAYS have BIG plans for Friday 14th February when we will be running a TOY SALE after school with a BOOK and CAKE stall too. Watch this space....more details to follow.
Keeping in Touch
There will be a Parent Consultation Afternoon and Evening shortly after Half Term, however as always, if you have any concerns that you feel need to be discussed before this time, please contact the school or pop in to arrange a time when we can have a chat.
