Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations
We held a whole day of celebrations just before half term. We began by watching archive film of the Queen's coronation in 1953. After that the whole school was buzzing with activity as we all made crowns, place mats and flags in preparation for our party in the afternoon.
After playing a variety of traditional party games: Pin the nose on the corgi, musical statues, musical chairs and sleeping corgis, parents and friends from the village joined us for a wonderful street party. The 'Friends' kindly decorated the tables and sorted out the mountains of food and the children sat in the sunshine under the bunting enjoying the amazing array of tasty treats.
At the end of the afternoon each child went home with a goody bag which held a commemorative coin donated by the Parish Council, a New Testament Bible from the Diocese of Hereford, a book mark and a lolly from the 'Friends' - all to keep and treasure as a reminder of this special day.
A big thank you to everyone who helped to make such a memorable day!
