This half term we are thinking about our 4 core values - Kindness, Resilience, Wisdom and Community

Enterprise Week

We held a hugely successful Enterprise Fair during the week of 21st November. During the week, the children learned about different jobs people do to earn money (a huge 'thank you' to all the parents and friends who gave up time to talk to the children). Bill Wiggin, our local MP, visited the school and told the children all about his job and what he does as an MP. The children had the opportunity to ask him questions about what he does and about his likes and dislikes. They also learned about what their parents have to spend money on and how expensive it is to run a household.
Each class made a variety of items to sell and, after working out the costs, estimated the profit which could be made.
We held an Enterprise Fair on Friday when the children explained about the work they carried out during the week and what they had learnt. Afterwards there was the opportunity to visit each class' stall and buy the things the children had been busy making - an extra Christmas shopping treat that turned out a bit like the first day at the sales!
Class 1 made £6.26 profit
Class 2 made 10.67 profit
Class 3 made £51.60 profit
Class 4 made £95.70 profit - Making a grand total of £164.23
Added to the donations following our Harvest Festival we are able to send £214.57 to Water Aid.
