As part of our topic on 'The Stone Age' we completed a homework activity to build houses from the period. Children constructed a selection of of Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic houses. They were so impressive that we set up an exhibition for the other classes to come and have a look. We wrote signs to go with our houses that told people what materials would have been used and why the houses were like this.
We also had a go at painting in the style of Stone Age people. We made our own dabbers using sheep fleece, sticks, straw and other materials. Had great fun grinding up chalk, mud, charcoal and miking these with water and some paint.
