Otters

Welcome to Otters!

Welcome back! The children had a very busy autumn term and the spring is shaping up to look the same. I look forward to seeing the children continue to grow and progress throughout the term.

This half term, one of our PE sessions will be swimming at Knighton Leisure Centre on Wednesday afternoons.

PE will be on Thursday afternoons with Mr Rix. The children will be outdoors and as the weather is changeable this time of year, please ensure that children have warm clothing in school as well as their shorts and t-shirts. It is essential that children have proper trainers to support their ankles for outdoor PE.

Homework will be set on a Monday to be handed in the following Monday. Every other week, your child will bring home either their maths workbook or their reading comprehension workbook. We will highlight which activities are to be completed.

Spellings or times tables to be learned will be handed out on a Friday, with a test on the following Friday.

Froggy maths will also be tested on a Friday. Please practice with your child throughout the week. Times table knowledge is vital for the maths curriculum.

Could you please ensure that your child’s uniform and PE kit is named. Thank you.

Chinese New Year Dragon Dance Workshop

We had a lovely afternoon with Sally, a local drama teacher. We took part in a drama and dance workshop based on the story 'The Brave Little Parrot'.

We used chocolate to explore the three different types of rocks.

During Topic, we completed some cave paintings under the tables by torch light
