If you would like to contact the Friends to join, with ideas or would like to make a donation, please e-mail. Please contact Mrs Price at the school office e-mail address - email@example.com and she will forward the e-mails to us.
The Friends committee includes about 20 – 30 active parents at any one time. Not everyone attends meetings due to work and evening commitments, however taking part in decision making is facilitated via e-mail, and all are welcome to join in running fundraising events. The committee usually has three consistent committee roles – Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. There are also core committee member of Friends who commit to attend meetings whenever possible and often lead in organising events. Friends are also supported by some key school Governors including Kath Black and Reuben Crouch.
What the Friends do:
The Friends committee raises funds through a calendar of events and fundraising schemes. The calendar of events includes ‘tried and tested’ events as well as different, fun ideas introduced by new committee members each year. The ‘events’ aim to provide fun and a chance for the school and community to socialise together as well as raise money.
The Friends have now been granted charity status. Charity Number 1149976
What the Friends Support:
The Friends committee has decided to spend its money in various ways and does so in close consultation with the school:
1. Fixed assets, e.g. computers
2. Curriculum support, e.g. subsidising school transport, sports equipment
3. Enrichment days, e.g. drumming, circus skills, Mad science, literacy and arts days, storytelling workshops, annual Christmas party with theatre/arts entertainment for the children etc.
