Chinese New Year celebrations

We celebrated the Chinese New Year - the year of the sheep - in a traditional way by learning to dance like a Chinese Lion.
The day began with an assembly for the whole school along with some parents. The lion woke up, danced and ate the lucky lettuce. If a lettuce leaf lands on you it will bring you good luck for the whole year. It was a good job that the lion spat out a lot of lettuce and it landed on lots of us!
All of the children worked with Glenn Parry, our Kickboxing coach, learning the moves and having a go at playing the Chinese drums and cymbals.
It was a great day - lots of noise and lots of fun!
